Actalent is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for a client of ours in Lawrenceburg, TN. Description:In this role, you will have a critical support role in our Advanced Thermal Systems team, as we work closely with our customers to define the future of commercial electric vehicles. You will manage the introduction of new product launches from our design/development teams into our manufacturing plant in support of our Advanced Thermal Systems business. Using proven methodologies, processes and practices, you will work very closely with cross-functional program teams, to implement effective, on-time product launches. NPI positions reports to the Advanced Thermal Systems Manufacturing Engineering Manager.--- The NPI Engineer is responsible for the successful implementation of NPI launches into the manufacturing plant with ownership through Start of Production (SOP) + 180 days. Performance goals will be tied to SOP metrics. --- Develops, maintains, and reports on NPI metrics relating to stated goals and objectives.--- Responsible for leading cross-functional Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) efforts as the designated "Plant APQP Leader" to ensure launch readiness and quality deployment into every step of the value stream.--- Leads NPI efforts at the plant level to ensure a smooth transition of stated requirements and deliverables from product development to mass production.--- Responsible for prototype builds at the plant and coordinating with Product Engineering--- Provides inputs regarding best assembly and test practices during product development phase with a view to ensuring the scalability of production to meet growth estimates.--- Ensures that Design For Manufacture (DFM) requirements are met during the new product development phase.--- Collaborates with Product Engineering for introducing new products/processes to the manufacturing plant including Vertical Integration and other Value Analysis and Value Engineering (VA/VE) activities --- Ensures that processes and techniques employed are lean, reliable, and cost effective, supportive of Lean manufacturing principles and optimization of process/product flow.--- Determines capacity and equipment requirements based upon new product forecast, growth estimates and current capacity utilization at manufacturing plant to ensure the successful transition to mass production.--- Works closely with Product Engineering teams to create and structure Bills Of Materials (BOMs) that enable an optimized and efficient manufacturing process.--- Defines and implements production routings to employ the most efficient and cost effective assembly practices, flow and test methods; includes production line and work cell design.--- Responsible for creating work instructions and training of personnel for new products/process introduced to the manufacturing plant--- Coordinates efforts with plant team to ensure all phase/gate deliverables are accomplished on-schedule--- Collaborates closely with the cross-functional teams to drive production improvements from initial product launch--- Travel less than 10%Top Skills Details:

  • value engineeringAdditional Skills & Qualifications:--- Bachelor's degree in a relevant Engineering discipline.--- 2 or more years' experience in an NPI role in a manufacturing environment--- Experience with electrical and/or refrigeration systems highly preferred--- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, effective communicator at all organizational levels.--- Highly organized, good attention to detail, capable of multi-tasking and following through on tasks to completion.--- Possess strong communication skills (both written and verbal), able to interact with all stakeholders and act as a professional representative of the corporation.--- Eagerness to operate in a dynamic fast paced environment with an ability to drive change.--- Good understanding and ability to apply various Quality tools such as; APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, SPC.--- Strong background in Lean methodologies--- Proven track record of using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and a willingness to learn and utilize new tools within the organization.--- Knowledge of SAP preferred.If you or someone your know is interested in this position email OR APPLY NOW About Actalent: Actalent connects passion with purpose.
