Job Title: Inspector III Location: Huntsville, AL - 35806 Duration: 6 months contract with possible extension B Shift: Weekday Nights, 02:00 PM - 10:30 PM Job Description: As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will implement receiving inspection methodologies to support the manufacture, assembly, and test for various spaceflight systems. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight. Inspect material per inspection plan such as dimensions, part marking and traceability. Review all supplied documentation for hardware acceptance per Purchase Order requirements including, but not limited to, inspection and material reports. Provide feedback to engineers and buyers with dimensional data. Document, track, and complete discrepancy reports. Provide inspection time estimates. Assist with maintaining and tracking all inspection equipment calibrations. Contribute to process improvements. Maintain configuration control on files and job records. Safely work within an industrial environment. Qualification: A minimum of 5-7 years experience in receiving or dimensional inspection of aerospace components. Intermediate GD&T comprehension per ASME Y14.5M-1994 standard. Excellent communication skills. Fluent in the use of precision hand tools, gages, optical comparator, and surface plate work. Ability to select the correct tool for the inspection task Familiar with the use of personal computers. Self-motivation and ability to prioritize projects to meet completion dates Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion Inventory system knowledge Purchase order system management Intermediate machining knowledge Experience operating heavy lifting equipment such as cranes and forklifts around flight critical hardware Outside processing knowledge (heat treat, plating, coating, EDM, grinding, etc.) Pre Screening Questions: On a scale of 1-10, how would you rate your GD&T comprehension? How many years of reviewing supplier documentation do you have? What types of tooling/equipment have you used to measure hardware features? What types of material/hardware have you worked with? i.e machined components, harnesses, raw materials, etc
