Job Description:
JOB SUMMARY: The Program Manager must provide leadership and
consistency for all new program launches utilizing advance quality
planning methodology in order to achieve a smooth and successful
start-up on time and within budget. Will also work with the sales
team to prepare and coordinate RFQ's (Request for Quote) related to
any new business. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Oversee
and ensure standardization/consistency of approach for all new
program launches in terms of advanced product quality activities
including, but not limited to the following: -- Process FMEA
(Failure Mode Effects Analysis) -- Capability Studies -- Process
Control -- Process Verification -- Lab/Product testing -- Customer
approvals --- PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) -- Product
Validation -- Packaging issues -- Testing/Gauges -- Advanced
Product Quality Planning (APQP) and control plans -- Conducts line
audits and participation in customer quotes --
Creation/implementation of inspection standards and limit samples
-- Customer relations 2. Coordinate the efforts of Quality and
Product Engineers in the development, and successful/timely launch,
of new products. 3. Ensure that team members are participating and
contributing to development efforts. 4. Serve as coach/mentor to
Engineers when they are asked to serve as overall project Leader on
specific new program launches. 5. Work closely with customers and
sales team to successfully manage program from concept to
production launch. 6. Use creative skills and experience to assist
or facilitate team members in solving design and/or manufacturing
problems with customers. 7. Lead group efforts in determining and
establishing realistic program costs and timing through cost
estimating efforts and program time line establishment. 8. Assist
engineering manager in relaying company strategies and vision to
team members. 9. Assist in determining staffing needs and
requirements based on program requirements. 10. Establish, evaluate
and monitor timelines in order to meet expectations of customer and
the company for time, cost and quality. 11. Establish communication
link between customers, launch team and production in order to meet
production demands 12. Seek to find ways to improve the overall
launch process and its effectiveness in order to bring profitable
new programs into manufacturing. 13. Other assignments or tasks as
requested by the Plant Manager. MINIMUM EDUCATION AND SKILLS
REQUIRED: 1. Bachelor---s degree in Engineering or related field
from an accredited University or College. 2. Excellent
communication skills (verbal and written). 3. High degree of
attention to detail and accuracy. 4. Must be willing to travel,
possibly overnight. 5. Must maintain strict confidentiality. 6.
Excellent computer skills: Windows, Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT : Standing, sitting, walking,
stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, use of hands to inspect
parts, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms, talking and
hearing. Employee will occasionally lift and/or move product.
Office environment: Moderate noise
