Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Med Surg - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 07/15/2025 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Job Title: Travel Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical (RN - Med Surg) Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Shift | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | 4 Weekend Shifts per 4-Week Schedule Location: Nashville, TN Start Date: July 12, 2025 Pay Package: - Hourly Rate (W2): $17/hr - Weekly Stipend (Meals & Housing): $1,484 - Total Weekly Gross: $2,096 (Based on 36 hrs/week) Job Description: We are actively hiring an experienced Travel Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week assignment on a busy med-surg unit. This opportunity is ideal for nurses looking to work with a collaborative team in a high-acuity adult care setting with strong leadership support. Unit Details: - Unit Type: Medical Surgical - Bed Count: 25 - Patient Ratio: 1:4 to 1:5 - Support Staff: Unit Secretary daily, PRN techs - Equipment Used: - Welch Allyn Vital Signs Carts - Alaris IV Pumps - Hoyer Lift - Broda Chairs - EMR: Meditech - Floating Policy: Float over core staff when necessary Required Credentials: - Active RN License (Compact or TN) - Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg experience - Basic Life Support (BLS) – AHA - NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) - COVID-19 vaccination required Preferred Skills & Experience: - Patient care involving wounds, tracheostomy, ostomy, drains, and chest tubes - Familiarity with PCA pumps, dialysis patients, and Heparin drips - Post-op care including amputations, wound vacs, ostomy, and chest tube management Responsibilities: - Perform patient assessments and deliver direct care - Manage wounds, trachs, ostomies, and tubes with precision - Conduct bedside shift reports and hourly safety checks - Ensure full compliance with documentation and scanning protocols - Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes Unit Culture & Fit: - Highly team-driven and supportive work culture - Youthful, motivated staff with experienced charge nurses and engaged leadership - All travelers treated equally to core staff with high accountability and recognition Dress Code: - Accepted Scrub Colors: Navy, Blue, White, Black, Gray, Ceil Blue If you're a detail-oriented Med/Surg RN looking to make an impact while expanding your clinical skills in a rewarding travel position, we encourage you to apply today.
