Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Medical Lab Scientist - Discipline: Allied Health Professional - Start Date: 07/21/2025 - Duration: 24 weeks - 40 hours per week - Shift: 8 hours, nights - Employment Type: Local Contract Pride Health is hiring a Medical Laboratory Scientist II to join a leading healthcare facility in Nashville, TN. This overnight role is ideal for experienced lab professionals who are passionate about high-quality diagnostic testing and thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Key Responsibilities: - Perform moderate to high complexity clinical laboratory testing in accordance with CLIA, OSHA, CAP, and hospital standards. - Ensure timely, accurate reporting of test results to support physician diagnosis and patient care. - Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and analyzers. - Conduct and document quality control procedures to ensure test accuracy. - Adhere strictly to laboratory protocols for specimen handling, test procedures, and equipment calibration. - Collaborate effectively with pathologists, technologists, and other healthcare staff. - Maintain accurate records, including test data, quality assurance documentation, and equipment maintenance logs. Qualifications: - Education: Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field (Required). - Certification: ASCP (American Society for Clinical Pathology) or equivalent preferred. - Experience: - Minimum 1 year of clinical lab experience preferred. - Experience in a high-volume, hospital, or reference lab setting is a plus. - Strong knowledge of laboratory regulations and quality control standards. - Ability to work independently on third shift with minimal supervision. - Excellent attention to detail and time management skills.
