About the Position TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health
to find a qualified Med/Surg RN in Nashville, Tennessee, 37203! Job
Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Med Surg
Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience:
Minimum 2 years License: RN License required Certifications: BLS,
NIHSS Must-Have: Able to perform basic patient assessments. General
care and maintenance of wounds, tracheostomy, ostomy, drains, chest
tubes, strokes, and seizures. Patient population may require
dialysis or PCA pumps. Only drip is Heparin. Description: The unit
has 36 beds with patient ratios of 1:4 or 1:5. A secretary is
available every day, along with PRN technicians. Type of equipment
includes PD Cyclers, Welch Allyn vital sign carts, Hoyer lifts,
Broda chairs, and Alaris IV pumps. Documentation is done through
Meditech. Scheduling requires four weekend shifts in a four-week
block. Staff may float over core staff as needed. Patient
experience focuses on bedside shift reports, safety checks every
1-2 hours, and effective communication and responsiveness.
Post-operative procedures on the unit include amputations,
ostomies, drains, chest tubes, oral surgeries, and wound vacs. The
dress code is scrubs in navy, blue, white, black, gray, or ceil
blue. The unit guidelines include HAI prevention, CVC and Foley
monitoring with standard precautions, and fall prevention.
Medication scanning is required, including controlled substances.
Attendance must adhere to policy. The team is described as
