Job Description Job Summary and Responsibilities As a Pre/Post
Surgery RN, you will integrate the nursing process and standards
into daily practice, applying growth and development knowledge to
interventions and providing care tailored to each patient's
changing needs. Daily, you will deliver efficient, safe patient
care during the critical period following anesthesia and invasive
procedures. This involves using the nursing process, delegating to
and evaluating subordinate staff, and coordinating support
services. Success in this role requires a strong grasp of surgical
nursing principles, meticulous patient focus, and the ability to
manage complex care in a critical, fast-paced environment. -
Diagnostic and patient monitoring (detection and recognition of
acute changes and escalation or concerns/critical results). -
Administration and monitoring therapeutic interventions and
regimens (starting/maintaining intravenous therapies, administering
medication per patients’ rights, preventing falls and skin
breakdown and following policies in relation to safety measures). -
Effective management of rapidly changing situations (identifying,
assessing and anticipating needs). - Organization and work rule
competencies (prioritizing, coordination and meeting multiple
patient needs in a timely manner). - Helping Role (consistently
contribute to a healing environment, providing patient comfort and
support for human dignity, serving as a patient advocate and
building and maintaining a therapeutic environment. -
Teaching-Coaching Function (assess and evaluates the patient’s
readiness and ability to learn, effectively explains a patient’s
condition and their interpretation of his or her illness. Job
Requirements Required - Graduate of an accredited nursing program,
upon hire and - Registered Nurse: TN, upon hire and - Basic Life
Support - CPR, upon hire Preferred - Bachelors Of Nursing and At
least one (1) years' experience in perioperative surgical area or
