Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 04/13/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview - Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs - Hours: 36 hrs/wk - Start Date: Apr 13, 2026 - Length: 13 weeks - Openings: 1 Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Stepdown/PCU position requiring night shift availability, ACLS, and at least 1 year of experience. Details - Work in a 36-bed Stepdown/Intermediate Care unit within a hospital setting - Patient population includes adults ages 18–60 requiring stepdown/PCU-level care - Complex patient cases include continuous BiPAP, low-dose vasopressors, trauma, lumbar drains, CIWA (high-dose Ativan), hyponatremia, emergency dialysis, hyperkalemia, antifreeze ingestion, home vents (trachs), sheath removal, CEA, rhabdomyolysis, Precedex, stroke (Q2 neuro checks), stable craniotomies, and fentanyl drips - Nurse-to-patient ratio is 3:1 - Staffing model is variable and includes RNs and LPNs; RNs assume full responsibility for their patient team - Night shift: 18:45–07:15 - 13-week contract Requirements - Active RN license — TN or Compact license required - Minimum 1 year of RN experience required - Current BLS certification (AHA) - Current ACLS certification (AHA) - NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required - Successful completion of a rhythm test required - Must possess a US Social Security Number and provide a US home address Additional Information - Two professional references required for consideration - Copy of Driver's License required for consideration - Full SSN and full DOB required for consideration - Skills checklist required for consideration - Local candidates are accepted; however, candidates residing within the facility's radius may be subject to a reduced pay rate American Traveler Job ID P-684886.
