JOB TITLE: SHIFT SUPERVISOR

Cedar Grove RTC, located in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, is a 45 bed CARF-accredited facility that treats young men, ages 11-17, who are struggling with Sexual/or mental health issues. As a Shift Supervisor you will have the opportunity to contribute to the effective implementation of individual treatment plans through "line of sight" supervision, positive interaction and role-modeling.

JOB SUMMARY

Directly supervises Resident Counselors of Cedar Grove RTC. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the policies and applicable laws to include licensing regulations, policies and procedures, CARF standards, HIPPA policies, and operating requirements. The shift supervisor is furthermore expected to provide training of employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

    Qualifications

    QUALIFICATIONS

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; and one to three months related experience and/or training working with at-risk youth; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor's Degree (B.A./B.S.) or Associate Degree(A.D.) and previous supervisory experience preferred.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Include, but are not limited to, the following:

    1. Coordinates shift schedules of Residents Counselors.

    2. Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow.

    3. Maintains harmony among workers and resolves grievances.

    4. Initiate emergency procedures as required.

    5. Prepare reports and documentation as required by organization.

    The work environment for this position is a residential facility setting. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to residents who may ask inappropriate personal questions, display socially unacceptable personal behaviors, use profanity and sexually-explicit phrases, make insulting remarks or threats regarding appearance, age, sex, or race, and exhibit defiance, dishonesty, and assaultive or self-destructive behaviors.
