Our busy law firm is growing and we are looking for talent that works hard to represent our clients well. The prime candidate will work seamlessly with both senior partners as well as administrative staff in an effort to effectively serve our clients. Responsibilities:

--- Oversee paralegals, law clerks, and administrative staff
--- Argue motions in court on behalf of clients during legal proceedings
--- Determine case strategies and solutions to serve clients' needs after analysis
--- Provide legal counsel to clients by analyzing their needs and determining a proper course of action
--- Perform research, draft briefs, pleadings, and motions
--- Passion for lawyering and being in the courtroom making a difference
--- Honesty is critical and good ethical character is essential
--- Love connecting with people
--- Passionate about helping others
--- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
--- Treats a 4:30 call on Friday with the same care and compassion as one on Monday morning

Qualifications:

--- Must be a member of your local bar association - active member preferred
--- Advanced computer skills working with legal research programs (Westlaw and Lexis) required
--- Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs is needed
--- Graduation from law school with Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree and experience in representing clients for at least 2 years
--- Must be able to handle heavy caseload with little supervision
--- Qualified candidates will have 3+ years of experience
--- Admitted to practice law in Tennessee
--- General or criminal law experience is a plus
--- Former prosecution experience strongly preferred (we are all former prosecutors!)
--- Experience in other law firms or government legal departments is a plus
--- At least 3 years of criminal law experience preferred
