Job Description:

This job requires overall product knowledge of all Miller products requiring assembly as well as having some metal finishing skills. Included in the duties would be the ability to recognize and correct all minor problems as well as some major problems concerning the various assembly processes. The Assembler II would require little or no supervision, and would be self-motivated. 1. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1.1. Working from routings, BOM, work instructions, blue prints, and electrical schematics 1.2. Gather and prepare required tools, information and materials to assembly the different product assembly operation. 1.3. Use various tools and equipment to assemble, test and inspect the different assemblies 1.4. Has the Authority and Responsibility to report non-conformity product 2. Accountability 2.1. Timely and responsive reports and documents 2.2. Specified and accurate inspections and measurements 2.3. Meeting safety performance targets 3. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES 3.1. None at this time 4. QUALIFICATIONS 4.1. Mechanically adept 4.2. Attention to detail 4.3. Able to prioritize and work under schedule demands 4.4. Good communication skills 4.5. Computer literate 4.6. Able to read all precision measuring instruments 4.7. Ability to read and interpret specifications 5. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 5.1. A high school diploma or equivalent along with; 6. LANGUAGE SKILLS 6.1. Ability to write reports in the English language 6.2. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of supervisors and/or managers in the English language 7. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS 7.1. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions and percentages 7.2. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations 8. REASONING ABILITY 8.1. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variable in situations where only limited standardization exists 8.2. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form 8.3. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions 8.4. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables 9. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS 9.1. The environment is primarily a typical manufacturing environment where aluminum and abrasive dust could be present. 11.4. There is some limited exposure to physical risk 12. PPE REQUIREMENTS 12.1. Eye protection required in all areas of the production floor 12.2. Foot apparel must cover all portions of the foot 12.3. Safety shoes/boots with metal or composite toe protection are required within production areas 12.4. Hearing protection equipment required while on the production floors 12.5. Other PPE such as gloves are required based on the task at hand Hide Job Requirements:

  • Maintain aircraft maintenance records in accordance with the aircraft maintenance plan
  • Assemble aircraft structures and units
  • Build sub assemblies of aircraft components
  • Assemble, modify and install aircraft structural assemblies, subassemblies, and structures on aircraft systems
  • Demonstrate a basic understanding of aircraft drawings and schematics
  • Assist in maintaining aircraft facilities and ground support equipment
  • Train less experienced assemblers in the proper assembly of aircraft
  • Fabricate parts and assemblies from measurements taken directly from aircraft
  • Assemble aircraft structures or aircraft support equipment with or without the aid of jigs and fixtures by drilling, filing, filling, reaming, countersinking
  • Assemble, install, rework, repair and modify aircraft structural, mechanical or electrical assemblies, subassemblies, components, systems, and airframe structures on aircraft systems
  • Maintain aircraft in airworthy condition as stated in Federal Air Regulations
  • Assemble aircraft interior structures and/or parts, such as bins, galleys, lavatories, sidewalls, cargo liners, etc and build sub assemblies for the completion of aircraft
  • Assist in preparing the aircraft for Pegasus or other flight or launch activities including modifications and Airborne Support Equipment Installations to reconfigure the aircraft as required for mission unique configurations
  • Lay out, and fabricate sheet metal parts and assemblies and install on aircraft for flight test projects
  • Perform corrosion detection, treatment, prevention and documentation per customer/management instructions/directions on aircraft and associated equipment
  • Make layouts and completely build temporary tooling to fabricate developmental or modified structural assemblies for installation in aircraft or for mockup
  • Comply with and champion Safety, 5S, and housekeeping policies and ensure the protection of aircraft interiors (PTP)
  • Perform routine production assembly operations on structural and mechanical assemblies, subassemblies and aircraft systems, equipment and accessories using manual operations
  • Fabricate parts for aircraft, engines and support equipment
  • Determine serviceability of engine parts/support equipment
