Data Solution Architect Location: Arnold AFB, TN DESCRIPTION: Canvas, Inc. is currently seeking a Data Solution Architect to support our customer at Arnold Engineering Development Complex (AEDC) in Tullahoma, TN! This position is to provide advisory and assistance services to the Air Force. The Data Solution Architect acts as a senior advisor in technical, programmatic, and engineering activities to assist with laying the foundation for technical advancement across multiple organizations. This may include analysis of alternatives of DoD / government options as well as industry best-practice options. This role will develop objectives, opportunities, strategies, and plans to further integrate digital solutions, with an emphasis in data management and machine learning, across all aspects of multiple legacy and emerging programs, and will support these activities throughout the lifecycle. RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assess existing environments for opportunities to simplify, automate, or bring efficiency to technical processes
• Design, develop, and improve our next generation information technology infrastructure
• Suggest information technology system architecture improvements; recommend process improvements
• Evaluate new technology options and vendor products
• Assess multi-caveat data options and assist in preparing technical approaches for implementation
• Assist with preparing technical and programmatic content for funding requests related to digital engineering, machine learning, and artificial intelligence endeavors
• Assist with software and network engineering as well as Enterprise Architecture design and implementation support
• Provide acquisition support for pre-source selection and source selection activities
• Lead the evaluation of modern technologies, applications, and vendors to determine appropriateness, value, and fit
• Prepare plans, assessments, analyses, briefings, roadmaps, evaluations, and reports
• Conduct and participate in technical exchange meetings and working groups for digital and architectural topics
• Help identify and establish a supporting infrastructure and environments (build IT infrastructure)
• Understanding and adherence to operational processes ensuring auditability, risk and compliance with ISO, industry standards, and accreditation guidelines.
• Help with linkage of data between different identified applications REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain DoD security clearance with active investigation
  • Experience in design / development / operation of DoD IT systems
  • 7+ years developing complex integrated systems involving hardware / software to support modeling and simulation
  • Experience with machine learning / big data management and analytics / Artificial Intelligence
  • Experience with cloud / server / network / storage implementation and support
  • Experience designing and defining cloud system architecture for new or existing computer systems
  • Experience maintaining up-to-date documentation, and preparation of documentation for infrastructure changes
  • Ability to develop program plans and technical roadmaps
  • Ability to work independently or with a team, demonstrate strong initiative, and organize tasking with minimal supervision
  • Ability to develop programmatic and technical briefings for senior leadership
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Excellent people, organizational, management, computer, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to plan, coordinate, and support product development in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment at a strategic level REQUIRED EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in system engineering, software engineering, computer science, or related field Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen and show proof of citizenship.
