dedicated Director Brand Strategy like you to be a part of our
team. Job Summary and Qualifications The Director of Brand Strategy
reports to the Assistant Vice President of Brand Strategy. S/he
directs the development and implementation of the brand strategies
and programs across the enterprise. S/he will develop, lead, and
manage brand initiatives such as scalable audience positioning
strategies; brand strategies for HCA Healthcare’s business units,
markets and services; and take a lead role in overseeing brand
research and insights, among other critical initiatives. S/he
develops and manages enterprise partnerships, scalable tools &
resources, brand strategy and research and insights frameworks, and
reporting to facilitate execution of high impact brand strategies
through development and implementation. This position requires
unique competencies, including large-scale systems thinking,
advanced business acumen, and inherently collaborative personality.
S/he must be adept at navigating complex organizations with matrix
reporting relationships, connecting and building trust among
multiple stakeholders, as well as adapting to dynamic environments.
An understanding of the healthcare industry, research methodology
and best practices, strategic planning, brand strategy and business
analysis valuable to this role. What you will do in this role:
Strategic Planning & Research/Insights Leadership: • Supports Brand
AVP, Chief Brand Officer, and other business leaders in creation of
enterprise and market level brand plans that include brand, B2C,
B2B, and operational components. • Oversee research and insights
initiatives to support branding priorities across consumer and
in-industry audiences (physicians, nurses, colleagues, payors,
etc.). • Manage research initiatives, including project design,
vendor management and socialization of relevant findings. •
Understand mindsets, sentiment and key drivers of behavior for
consumer, physician, colleague and other important industry
audiences. • Utilizes quantitative and qualitative research to
guide strategy development for prioritized branding initiatives. •
Lead discovery efforts to identify opportunities, quantify business
impact, and provide solution recommendations for new projects. •
Develop initiative business cases and proposals that include
background analysis, strategy definition, project approach,
resourcing, budgeting, and timing. • Lead strategy development and
planning for new brand initiatives to support business objectives.
• Stay up to date on macro and micro trends across the industry
Marketing Initiative Leadership & Collaboration • Provide
leadership and direction of strategic branding initiatives. •
Support Marketing & Corporate Affairs leaders by providing
recommendations around opportunities for enhancing plans based on
research and insights, enterprise priorities and best practices. •
Act as a resource for brand and marketing leaders, consulting on
branding initiatives and sharing best practices across Groups and
Divisions. • Facilitate decision-making that is required for
progress on projects and programs. • Develop collaborative
relationships with key stakeholders to identify opportunities for
Marketing and Corporate Affairs to align with key business
priorities. • Build and maintain excellent relationships through
high quality, engaged service to all of key internal and external
stakeholders. • Work in partnership with Marketing & Corporate
Affairs teams as well as other business area teams across the
organization to align marketing strategies with strategic growth
priorities, policies and procedures of HCA Healthcare. Marketing &
Corporate Affairs Initiative Implementation • Work closely with
Marketing and Corporate Affairs leaders, project management team
members, marketing colleagues, and external agencies to ensure
successful implementation of initiatives, programs, and projects. •
Assemble models, frameworks, tools & resources to successfully
deploy branding initiatives. • Demonstrate a commitment to learning
& evaluation. Work closely with stakeholders to track key
performance indicators and evaluate outcomes related to target
audience impact and achievement of business goals. • Manage
agencies, vendors and external partners as related to execution of
branding initiatives. • Support in determining appropriate
reporting metrics to clearly articulate successes and identify
opportunities to optimize and change strategies. • Identify current
and future risks to initiatives, develop recommendations for
mitigation strategies, and work proactively with leadership to
mitigate. • Provide analysis of initiatives, critical evaluation of
progress against business goals, define recommendations for
optimization or further evaluation or investment. Brand Strategy
Team Management • Oversight of activities of managers, project
managers, and external vendors. • Identify regular developmental
opportunities for team members. • Partner with indirect leaders to
ensure betterment of broader team skill sets. • Provide coaching,
mentoring, and developmental feedback to teams members (direct and
indirect). Additional Core Responsibilities: • Serve as advisor and
thought leader to internal business units on brand strategy,
business impact and opportunity identification and assessment. •
Become a go-to source for brand resources and information by taking
a leadership role in sharing best practices and enterprise
knowledge of team members, skills, capabilities, and tools. •
Building and maintaining relationships with enterprise leadership,
key business sponsors and vendors. What qualifications you will
need: • Bachelor’s degree required • Master’s degree preferred • 1
years of experience in a management role • 7 years of experience in
