The Transportation Coordinator supports the team by taking customer requests, supporting the team of drivers, maintaining inventory movement, monitoring available equipment, and reviewing/processing paperwork and reports.ABOUT HARMON SCRAP METALWe are Harmon Scrap Metal, we recycle by processing scrap metal, and we are growing by the day. Our core values are the backbone of our business and guide our hiring process: we are transparent, accountable, aligned, disciplined and adaptable.PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVESProcess customer requests for serviceMaintain inventory of metal that is brought in and shipped out of all the yard locationsDispatch and support drivers effectively routing drivers throughout the day to ensure efficient and timely deliveries by setting next day schedule in Transportation Dispatch SystemAssist drivers with transportation operations by communicating efficiently and effectively both verbally and in writingReview and process paperworkNegotiate rates and book loads with 3rd Party Carriers, as needed & approvedNegotiate rates and book loads with 3rd Party Carriers, as neededAttend and participate in internal meetings and complete required trainingPerforms other related duties as assigned by managementKEY COMPETENCIESKnowledge of DOT RegulationsStrong written and verbal communication skillsBasic computer skills and a working knowledge of MS Office Suite and Google SuiteAbility to think individually as well as collaboratively when approaching job responsibilitiesPrior scrap industry background preferredAbility to work various shifts as needed and as assigned by the Transportation SupervisorAbility to pay attention to detailAbility to provide excellent customer serviceStrong problem-solving ability and good judgement during stressful time sensitive eventsAbility to use in-house systems

Requirements:
